SURFRIDER FOUNDATION – PORTUGAL The Surfrider Foundation, founded in 1984 by a handful of surfers in Malibu, California, is a non-profit grassroots organization that now maintains over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide. It is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. The SCV, as a chapter of the Surfrider Foundation in Portugal, will promote a broad environmental program along with the main events of the club this year.
